Reminder of change to BBC walk for Sunday June 25

Peter is unable to lead the proposed walk, “Walking in the hills and afternoon tea” on Sunday and Annette [ph: 62862984] has kindly offered to lead another walk of a similar difficulty instead.

Below is the description of Annette’s proposed walk.

Sunday 25 June – ISAACS RIDGE AND WANNIASSA HILLS CIRCUIT – 11km Medium (8)

From Isaacs we walk through the pines to the top of the Isaacs ridge, then descend to the underpass on Long Gully Road before exploring the Wanniassa Hills Nature Reserve including Mount Wanniassa. Some good views over the quarries, the tip and a solar farm before the more aesthetic views across Tuggeranong to the mountains. This walk includes some fire trails, but also open grassland and foot-pads through light forest and some rocky and steep sections. We should be back to the cars by 1.30pm Sunday’s weather forecast as at Monday was marginal, so if it rains we can skip lunch on the track and get back earlier.Total ascent 430m. Map: Tuggeranona. Cars: 0 km. Meet: at the end of Shepherdson Place, Isaacs.
